58 chevy chopped

Hi guys.

I like this site very much.
I have previously joined this site when I was on University.

My project is a 1958 chevy 2-dr Delray.
I am only 23 years old and this is my 3rd car that I have build.
Plenty of people told me that the "delray" was junk and wasted , and it was actually but I wanted to show them that anything is possible.
It was my first car and had plenty of value to it.

I have chopped the roof by 4.5 inches. Now in South Africa there are a few people that can do thi,I think but not to this shape car due to the round windscreen. I figured my own way to chop the roof.

I am working now for 2.5 year on the body ,modifying, welding etc.
It is prety much rusted but I re-skin almost all the panels and weld with
mig-welder the joining sheet metal.

I do not like body putty and try to weld the door gaps and boot gaps to perfect size.

The side windows are 22cm high. My head struggles to get through.

I was just wondering if any guys can give me any new ideas, engine mags colour etc.

Welcome to the site etiene58chevy. That Delray sounds great! How about posting some pics of it under construction.

Lots of info and opinions here. To get the most out of the site check out the Knowledge Base and use the search function for quick answers to your questions. As well check out the Project Journals for info and inspiration. Glad to have you here and enjoy the site.
