Hey everyone,

Well I got my brake kit, master cylinder/petal/booster yesterday and it looks like it wont clear the transmission cross-member. It currently has just a big metal strap going from one side to the other. I'm kind of in a hurry and money is an issue on this project but I found one that looks ok to me. I have never had to change out a cross-member before so any input would be appropriated.

if time and money are a concern, make your own x-member
a new x-member is the most basic piece to fab up
however if you have cut out the stock x-member,
it also supported the front cab mounts and kept the front of the cab from sagging
if your not concerned with the cab sagging, a basic mount is all you need.
this is the x-member that i fabbed up for my 58
