58 chevy trk front clip swap

Had a cust call yesterday about putting a monte carlo front clip on a 58 chevy truck frame. Is this the best choice width wise? the monte seems a little narrow at first glance about 4'' too narrow over all. hard to measure so far as both are disassembeled with wheels still on and no motor in the monte so susp is un loded and narrow without engine weight. thank you for any help

Here is a photo shoot of my installation of one on a '57 pickup. Unless they changed chassis design in those two years (I doubt it), it is a perfect fit. Looks factory installed w/ some careful welding.
