I run an 833 O/D behind my blown 354 hemi and it works great. I run a 50's Dodge bellhousing, a homemade trans adapter plate (for the bolt pattern) and the A833 O/D trans. The bearing retainer was the same size as the hole in the bell so the adapter is just to bolt the trans up to the bell. I've got a 146 tooth Weber steel faced aluminum flywheel. Nice piece. The one trick with this setup is the bell does not allow the normal auto starter to be used because the solenoid won't clear the block. I use an industrial engine starter that has the solenoid mounted on the other side.
I've been trying to break it for a while but it's holding up well.
