582 ci. build, need help

Hello guys, im brand new to this board and i think that you guys could help with your experience. I bought a Scott Schafiroff 582 hyd. roller shortblock. I bought some Dart pro 1 , 345 cc intake runner aluminum heads for this motor. I have a victor single plane intake and am planning on running a dominator 1050 carb. I found a set of edlebrock bbc hyd. roller lifters local for half price. Can I put edlebrock lifters on a comp. cam? This is a 646 lift cam. Im running 10.5 : 1 compression. If yall have any input on the lifters or anything else, please let me know. Im fairly new to this and need any input that i can get. thanks..

If these lifters are made for bbc, is it ok to run them in a Merlin III block?, and thanks for your reply.

As long as the Merlin III block has the same lifter bore angles as the lifters you have purchased. You might need to check on their website(Dart's) to verify they haven't made any radical changes from the Stock production BBC in that area. Since you are limited by the link bar that connects each pair of lifters, that would be the only issue I could forsee causing you any problems....

What are the specs on the cam, you've just given the lift....
What stands out to me is that a hydraulic roller with a large lift is probably fairly hefty on duration as well, a static compression of 10.5 to 1 makes me hope it's going to be a street car.... unless it's a "small" cam and isn't going to drain the dynamic compression ratio down much...
