59 El Camino Disc Brakes

Looking for a cheap way to get disk brakes. I have s10 spindles, can I just weld a ball joint socket on the bottom A frame and use this spindle? What other parts interchange to make this work?

What parts do I use if I just buy the conversion brakets for the s10 calipers?

re: 59 El Camino Disc Brakes

There is actually a bracket that will allow you to use the stock spindle.
Not too sure what caliper or rotor will be needed though.

Stock height spindles are being reproduced for these cars as well

Or you can go with a kit---as I did
2" drop spindles----I think it uses malibu rotors and camaro calipers.

Not too sure---can't remember

If you look thru a Classic Performance Products catalog, it will eventually tell you what calipers and rotors to use with any kit, just have to really look.

re: 59 El Camino Disc Brakes

i don't think s10 calipers were designed for the job of stopping a 59 el camino . i have converted my wagon to disc brakes and all the kits seem to use rotors and calipers from a mid 70's chevelle.use stock spindles and with the right bearings and brackets its a bolton. as a matter of fact i have a kit for sale pm me if your interested
