6.5 turbo diesel stalling

My 1995 silverado 6.5 turbo diesel engine keeps stalling and lacking power, seems like when I see it starting to stall out I see blue/black smoke form exhaust. I changed the pmd twice put it on a heat sink, someone told me it might be the crankshaft sensor is this possible? Any information will be greatly appreciated. This truck has been good to me until now it has me puzzled as to why it's stalling out.The other day I changed the air filter and noticed it was like bent out of shape and made it possible for unfiltered air to slip passed it. what about the glow plugs or injectors will they make it stall? I changed the fuel filter other day as well and poured some lucas fuel treatment in it. What about the fuel shutoff solonoid will it cause stalling problems?

Might check for air leaks in the fuel system. Also check out the guys at dieselplace.com in the 6.5L forum thats where all the 6.5L guys hang out at. Theyre pretty good at figuring out stuff like this.
