46 Ford front clip?

Ive been looking for help all over this forum and other forums and i cant quite get an answer, so maybe someone in here can help me.

Ive got a 46 Ford Super Deluxe and it has a 2in drop axle in the front right now. Part of the deal of me getting it was that my cousin would take the drop axle. (because it was his car and he gave it to me). Therefore i need a new front suspension. I was thinking about front clipping it with a Ranger or fullsize Ford p/u front end, but im not sure. I dont know what type of vehicle would be best to use for the front clip. I want to go the IFS route, BUT i dont have the $ for a new Mustang II IFS. So im stuck with cuttin the front end off one vehicle stickin it on here. Ideas?

Maybe some help??? autorestorermagazine.com

This is a black & white thin montly magazine by mail. They are right in the middle of rodding a 46. This months article shows more front end work...cutting & moving front rails for independent. plus making the X member wider for a modern size trans. Check the website as you can order back issues. Might have to buy a few because they have been doing monthly updates for several issues already. They "might" be chopping it too as I recall.

How wide is the front end you've got in it now? A quick comparison of that width vs. an F-150 or Ranger will tell you if you are in the ballpark...just to make sure it will all fit within your fenders etc.

When you typed in 46 you hit the capitalize key by mistake and the 4 turned into a $.

Thats probably what happened. I thought for a moment maybe a mod was messing with me and changed it up, as in get auto restore magazine for $6 and look at their front clip instead of posting about it. lol.

BUT, now i have corrected my mistake.
