6 quart oil pan

im using a 6 quart moroso oil pan, should i just use 5 quarts so the oil will be farther away from the crank or not? im also using a diamond stripper windage tray and mellings 10552# 10% high volume oil pump

That is an old hot rodders trick. It really does not make noticable differences on most engines.

Fill the pan until the dipstick shows full. The scrapper is a nice touch to help get the oil back into the pan faster.
