'60 Corvette makeover

hi, my name is firstgear, aka Herb. I live not far from Norwalk Dragway in Ohio. I have a '60 Corvette that I am in the process of redoing....I bought the car on Ebay from a guy in Maryland.

It came with a tired out 350 cu in Camaro motor from the mid 70's according to the block casting number. I took the motor out and got it over to Ricks Speed Shop in South Amherst, and there Rick transformed it into a 383 stroker. It sits in my garage waiting for the rest of the car to get done.

Right now I am in the process of pulling the body off the frame. The front suspension is being replaced with a Jim Myers Racing IFS with rack and pinion steering, disc brakes and QA1 coil over shocks. Also under consideration is to replace the rear suspension with a 4 bar link tied into a 9" Ford housing also with QA1 coil over shocks and disc brakes.

The tranny is being replaced as well with a Tremec TKO600 (5 speed with over drive 5th).

Car will be painted Corvette C5 Torch Red with White Coves. All of the chrome has to be replated or replaced. This is my first attempt at something of this magnitude.....so be preapred for lots of questions....

Herb
