60's era chevy truck

Whats the size of the metal on a 60's era chevy truck. I've gotta make some panels so i wanna know what size metal i need

Probably either 18 or 20 gauge..get your self a digital caliper from HF freight and measure it..the thickness that is and then it can be determined what metal to get..

I have a few of these....



they work real well. And the gauge of metal on that truck is doing to different depending on where you check it. But I believe Sam is right anywhere from 18 to 20 sounds about right.

i found two sheets 4x8 of steel in my barn.. its surface rusted as it has been sitting a while.. think it'll be alright [ i think my grandpa has a manual caliper but i need a digi one anyway[ next time i go i'll check them out ]
