Just in case anyone wants to know, here's a tech update for the thread:

1962 Cadillac 390 parts will not interchange with those on 429s. The 1962 Cadillac 390 is the last year for the first-generation overhead valve Cadillac motor. The 1963 390 is a different motor with more in common with the following 429s.

As you may know, Cadillac and Oldsmobile introduced OHV motors in 1949, and some believe this was the very beginning of the muscle car era. Cadillac's motor displaced 331 cubic inches through 1955. In 1956, the blocks were punched to 365 and in 1959 stroked and punched to 390. This motor was utilitized in new Caddies through 1962.

In 1963, a new block was introduced but retained the same 390-inch displacement. In '64 the new block was punched to 429 inches. This block was continued through 1967.

Hi colwoodshane34,

I Know Edelbrock did manufacture a Manifold for the 390 engine (out of the 62 year), it was Part Number CD693, it was a 3x2 barrell manifold, it could use the Holley 94 carb.

I bought one at a swap meet here in Australia fitted with three 94 holleys 20 years ago, still have it in my shed, hanging on the wall, I intended to put it on my 1962 Cadillac Park avenue sedan (which I still have), but never got around to it.

This is what it looks like. http://victorylibrary.com/graphics/CD-693.jpg

I have not seen too many of them about, but they do exist.
