62 corvette aluminum intake manifold
I have a 62 corvette aluminum intake manifold that has the plenum chamber welded closed between the left and right side. I was wondering if this may have been done in earlier years for performance reasons. If not, can someone tell me why this may have been done.

Do you have the part number from the intake?
A picture would be good. It sounds like someone worked on it, maybe took off the devider to see if it would run better. Some intakes have a section removed to help the signal to the carb. I never seen one welded from the factory. It would probably be from a 327 motor, duel plane.
