605 conversion
I just finnished a 605 on a 60 impala. I search afew junk yards in Los Angeles and came up with out anything. I think some yards may remove them for the rebuilders because they are so popular. good luck finding one. If you do grab the hose if they are in good shape, there are two types of hoses one flare and one oring seal. If you are good a fabricating you can make a mount yourself but other wise there are many people that sell them. I got mine from late great chevys in Florida for about 100 incl shipping It is clean and went in without a hitch. if you don't use a kit Make sure you strengthen the frame horn. the pitman arm from your car will work but the rag joint won't take the one from the car with the box. Also most later rag joints will fit the 605 box. The colum needs to be shortend and welded.
good luck MIKE |
