Your current wheelbase is 127". Your target wheelbase is 115". Remove the bed and fenders and back half the truck at 115". When done with that and you have a roller, position the fenders for the best eyeball and cut the bed accordingly.

You are correct when you say that you'll have to cut and shorten at 2 different places on each side.

Although I can't tell you the exact measurements ... Mar-K has some fairly detailed instructions for removing / replacing the inner box-side panels. Perhaps knowing the dimensions of those repacement panels might tell you where to cut?

Mar-K aso has a tailgate available that has a modern-style remote release handle on the *inside* of the tailgate (yay ... no more chains! )

The TV show trucks did this with a 66 Chevy long bed you can buy the episode online, very good video of how they did it.

Shorten bed??????????

Hi,if you go to ROCKAUTO .com,they have the short bed sides,i dont remember price though, would be MUCH easier than trying to shorten yours in 2 places on both sides (for a total of 4 cuts, if you try to cut your bed sides, you better invest in a 5 gallon bucket of bondo.
