63 falcon PROJECT

I bought this 63 falcon it came with a brand new 61 rebuilt 170 .. the car runs pretty good .my question is are those valves sopose to make that much noise.u can realy hear them chatter.and if I wanted to adjust them can some ples tell me how.

Hi,
Your going to get some noise but it shouldn't be extremely loud,
Set the valves, in that engine they are 0.016" hot, this should make it quite again.

'63 170 is a solid lifter engine.. you'll always hear them, but they shouldn't chatter or rattle.

it has 61 engine when rebuilt could they have put hydralic lifters. and if no .how do u adjust them.has been setting for 5 years could the valves be sticking are are alifter be sticking.I get oil out of all the lifter rods.
