63 ford falcon rear end question

what kind of rear end is in the 63 ford falcon ? is it a 9 inch or 8 inch rearend? and what is the gear ratio ? thank you

I think most of them came with something smaller, like a 7.5".

If it has a pan on the rear it is a 6.5 for a 6 cyl car.

If it is a drop out chunk in a V-8 car, 5 lug bolts on the wheels, it is an eight.

Ratio? anywhere from 4.11 in a 6 cyl wagon to 2.80 in a V8 hardtop automatic.

Get under there and look for a tag. That would (if it's still there) tell you more than anything we can speculate about.
