63 galaxie air ride

hello, I am thinking about putting air ride on my 63 galaxie convert. so that I can lower it at car shows but raise it back up for family cruising. I was looking at air ride technologies kit for my car and they have a bolt on rear kit that looks like it keeps the 1 rear main leaf to locate the axle and then uses the bags to raise and lower it. Has anyone ever used a kit like this? It seems simple enough because there would be no need to do a 4 link but I am afraid that I would not get as much drop. Would I? Also, the front upper cups appear to be angle cut on the top. Why would they be and how would you know exactly how to rotate it? If anyone has any thoughts or pics that they could share it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

air ride

Are you asking about the " Airover Leaf " system? Tony at air ride usually post on this board and he can give you alot of details. I have the Airover leaf on the rear of my car. It works A.O.K and is easy to install. However, I just removed two leaves on the spring and left three leaves. I think leaving just the main leaf is not a good idea.
You will get a good drop and ride with three leaves in the spring and the air bag.

These Air over leaf kits do work. But you are sacrificing ride quality a lot of the time. There can be a lot of axle wrap, or wheel hop. It is what it is a cheap easy way to do it. But in the end remember you got what you paid for! If you need any help choosing the right products for your car. feel free to PM me.

Traction-Masters are a cheap way of reducing wheel hop with the leaf-air ride.

Conversion to a parallel 4 bar is expensive...
