63 Nova Door Panel Removal

I just bought a 63 Nova 4DR and I cannot figure out how to remove the driver/passenger door panels to fix the locks. So far I have managed to remove the arm rest, and pop out the panel clips. However, i have no idea how to remove the window crank and the door latch.

Any help would be great so I don't break anything!

Thanks

browserhound,

Push in on the panel and look at the base of the handles. There is a small wire lock clip on there that has to come off. There is a special tool to remove it but you can use a dentist pick and hook the back end of it and PULL. To install the handle put the clip on first and then just push the handle back on. Be sure it is in the correct position so it will line-up with the arm rest and look correct.

Have Fun

Or ... if aftermarket handles have been installed, look for a small allen-screw at the base of the handle.

Thanks!
I tried wedging a rag behind the arm and it wouldn't fit, they're pretty tight. I will try the dentist pick trick today. They are original and have no screws/allen heads.

Thanks again.
