64 Chevy Panel Truck

Trying to find out what chassis swap would work best for my 64 panel truck. Some say 80's model short wheel base will work. Any info would be helpfull.

Chevy S10's are the best bet. You'll need to check the wheel base and maybe have to make some modifications to adjust. Width of the S10's are the same as yours.

Moreover, pull the master brake and booster along with the brake pedal assemblies if your going to convert to disc brakes.

umm

The S10 track width is only 54.7 quite a bit narrow for a 60-66, as for the short box its not the right length.

Why the need to do a total frame swap ? unless your panels frame is rotted or bent up its a great design and it has all the mounts for your body.

If you want to spend the cash there are plenty of company's making parts to lower and improve the handling and the braking.

Now If you are like many of us and prefer the DIY route you can swap 73-86 upper and lower control arms and gain disk brakes, many swap the center section of the frame as well.

My 66 is running 86 upper and lower arms, spindles and disc brakes on the front and air bags on all corners

If you look over at stovebolt or at 67-72 chevy each site has a 60-66 board and plenty of info.

60-72 used the same chassis. You need to go under and take measurements of one. I know these chassis well. We use them under 30's ford body ratrods because they are narrow.

That is absolutely true. The k frame will bolt right on with no modifacions. Maybe the original poster will give us more of an idea of why he wants to swap chassis.
