64 chevy truck dash removal

I am helping a friend work on a 64 chevy pick-up and want info on how to remove the dashboard. Any help would be appreciated.

Probably with a big torch.....it's all welded in. ......Unless, you mean the dashpad. It has nuts under the dash holding it down.

Yup, as poncho has said it's spot-welded at the cowl seam. There are about 3 bolts, if I recall, on each side near the door opening side of the dash. Undoing those makes the dash somewhat moveable, but I imagine that removal could be done by drilling out all of the spot welds <yeesh>.

My truck is a (guess what) 1966 GMC , and the firewall is rusted out in the fusebox area, and ALL the way up the LH kick panel

Every GMC cab that I have found so far (2) has the same problem. The GMC cabs are harder to come by than the Chevy ones, I think. I may be looking at swapping my GMC dash into a Chevy cab.

This thread reminded me of something I wanted to ask you knowledgable folk out there.

I have a 63 GM B model...its kind of a half cab-over tandem truck.Anyway, she caught fire on me a few months back, and it burned pretty much everything out of the cab and under the hood. I can handle the air lines and such....but would anyone have a cab wiring diagram for one of these things???

I dont expect a miracle, but any help would be greatly apreciated.
