I would put one from the front of engine to frame. If you have a grounding point for wiring inside the car I would check and make sure that it is grounded good. on a glass car you have to have a place for the grounds to go, I don't know if they have one or more, but you need a grounding terminal.

yep, 327NUT has it right, looking for factory locations please. I have the assembly manual, the '63 shop manual and the '64 supplement - but can't find the ground locations in those. They may be in there but I sure can't find 'em.

Nut,

I know that, I was just telling him he needed grounding terminals for the wiring. I could have guessed right on the strap off the front.

At least I took a guess, I see you didn't. LOL

I had a 63 too, but I don't remember, that was 50 years ago. Did you know you need grounding terminals for the inside. With what you said you put the ground from the battery to the starter bolt, the whole works should have a good ground to the frame, right now you are depending just on bolts that go from running gear to frame, and if there was paint on them you would not have a very good ground. The best place to do this would be from the engine. Just food for thought, GM had to run one somewhere.

I DID'T SAY I KNEW WHERE THEY WERE, I JUST ASKED IF HE KNEW HE NEEDED TERMINALS INSIDE THE CAR.
HE DID NOT SAY IF HE WAS REWIRING THE CAR OR JUST REPLACING SOME WIRES. HE SAID HE GROUNDED THE BATTERY TO THE STARTER, DON"T YOU THINK THAT THE ENGINE SHOULD BE GROUND TO THE FRAME.

GEEZ MY CAPS KEY WORKS TOO.

63/64 ground strap

Re: 63 Ground strap education
The correct engine ground for the 63 is driverside engine mount front bolt to the front of the engine mount bracket on the frame. You should find a hole there from the original installation.

A Corvette restoration dealer [ie.Paragon in Mich] should be able to sell you a " Factory Assembly Manual' it is full of part # locations for things etc. they cost about $30 but are worth their weight in beer.
