64 Plymouth Belvedere Elec drawings?
My neighbor is having a rough time figuring out why he is eating alternators.
I think he is on his 3rd alt in the last 30 days. Out of the blue this silly car decides to quit charging. New parts include--Alt, Voltage Reg, Horn Relay, Starter Relay, 5 Days ago I went up and checked the Alt output, = 14.2, Discovered a new Volt Reg was not working (tapped it with a screwdriver & wiggled a connection & it started to charge. Today he just informed me that he got another Alt.---Ammeter shows nothing at all---no Discharge/No Charge I'm beginnin' to wonder if my first guess (that's what I did when he first mentioned the car went dead) the Ammeter is faulty. Both of my 67 Chrysler 300s had ammeter failures (when I was still a teen) and they did some really weird stuff----one of them killed the whole car, no power to anything. So I'm wondering if anyone out there has an electrical drawing for a 64 plymouth belvedere--318--AC--Auto Be a lot easier to help him if I could trace the wires w/o having to destroy his harness. Been too long since working on a chrysler--forgot the colors. By the way---this is a completely unmolested harness under the hood, not yet sure of the under dash. Thanx Bryan |

Doc here,
Here is the diagram..you should be able to print it.. diagram The Alternator is on the bottom right of the schematic.. There appears to be a resistor assorted with the circuit...I'll Bet that has taken a dump.. Although I'm not a Mopar guy.. Doc

Thanks Doc, and Sam
Autozone does not have anything for the plymouth's yet--Ford-Chev-Jeep Tried to print that page Doc. Only got a section of it. So I took pictures of my monitor to get all of the page--6 shots-- Also got pics of the body wiring as well--6 more pics. I'll try to draw each page on a single on a single sheet for him. (this may benefit me as well) Bryan |
