65 Belair Powerglide to TH350 conversion

We are changing out the 6 cyl/powerglide to a sbc 350 w/ TH350 in our 65 Belair. I was looking online @ Yearone and Classic Industries and they both had a shift conversion part (S103 or 103) which from the picture looks like a detent plate and different shift lever for a column shifter (which is what we have). However, the words on Yearone says it's for a console shift. The sales guy @ Classic also said his computer says it's for a console shift. Anyone have experience with this?
Thanks!

also - any info or links to the lock-in connector pin identification on the TH350c? I'm looking for info on how to put lock-in on a manual switch.

I have seen powerglides replaced with th350, and its a pull one out and put one in affair. It sounds like you have a column shifter. So from my experience all that happens is P is P, R is R, N is N, D is D and L is 2 and for first it just slips off the the indicator.

Easy said now just to do it

John

Yeah - I'll see how easy or hard today. I found a generic conversion kit from Kugel Komponents but ended up going to junk yard and found a lever for the transmission and will try to make the linkage work - we'll see. Most of the TH350 laying around in the junkyard had that "U" bracket on them which requires some intermidate shaft to rotate the U. The bracket on the powerglide does not come off and has the kickdown shaft bracket on same pivot so you can't use those parts.

We got lucky on shifter mechanism. The TH350 did not have a shift lever on it. All of the th350's we saw in junkyard had one of those U brackets which require a rod from an intermediate shaft and to rotate the "U". We found a flat shifter lever in a junk box which fit. (shaped like a V with a small hole on one leg of V, a large on the other and a rectrangle at the vertex to mount to tranny - may have come from a manual transmission - small hole for backup light?)
Anyway, the existing intermediate shaft in the car matched up with lever with just a little tweaking. It moved the lever about 1 in or so closer to engine so we had to mount the frame bracket with the pivot on spacers. I was a little surprised that the detents on the column shifter matched the detents on the transmission after adjusting the length of down rod. The first gear can even be reached by shifting past the last position. So - good to go!
