The windlace goes around the door and/or window openings. There are gripper strips that screw in over the door and/or window openings, and the headliner is tucked under the gripper strips (which fit snugly up next to the windlace) to complete the installation. If you don't have gripper strips, you will need to find some or make some. Look at this thread which should explain things for you: HEADLINER TUTORIAL If you need to make gripper strips (headliner retaining strips) just ask.
