65 Mustang on Air

Is there an air suspension kit or parts that will fit into a 1965 mustang? What I would like to do is lower it when it is parked and raise it for riding with a push of a button. I also would like to know if I could have it so the front is low and rear is higher? I think it would be really nice to be able to do this from inside my car. I was also wondering if the air over leaf kit would be able to do this? Is there a better way? Or would there be leaf elimination involved for better quality? Since I currently have the stock leafs in the back. Also the AirStrut from air ride says it lowers the car with the push of a button. Now do those replace the front coils? And what about the rear? Do they not work with leafs because I see the classic mustang is not listed for this kit.

What I have gathered I can do from Air Ride stuff is:
Air over leaf
Front Shockwaves
Leveling System

I want to know if this is the best setup for my car? Or any alternatives you might have? The Electric leveling system is pricey but seems to have what I am looking for.

The air ride tech parts are the very best you can buy. They are not inexpensive, but with quality comes a little higher cost.
to answer your questions...
Yes you can have the front low and rear high, or vice versa. At the very least you will run a front/ back set up, allowing the two to be raised and lowered seperately. I would recommend running a four way system though. That will give individual control of each air bags, and eliminate the air transfer associated with a 2 way system.
An air over leaf kit can be controlled from inside the car. Going with a four link and bags is better than going with the air over leaf. It will give a better ride. and handle better. But the air over leaf does work well.
Yes the front air kit replaces the stock springs. I am not familiar with the early mustangs, but maybe tony@ airride will see this monday and give you the details.
In the rear, again I am not real familiar with the mustangs, but I think there is no air strut, bucause it isn't a strut equipped car. Since it has leafs, they have the air over leaf. If you were to go to a four link, then you could use one of the shockwave kits back there.
Electric leveling systems are a little pricey. Pressure based systems are cheaper. But for anyone wanting fast valves, they don't work all that well. The valves react to fast. Dakota digitals system has a delay built in to compensate. Air ride has a new set up coming out, that automatically lifts the car up at start up, then shuts off after about 20 seconds. Then it goes to full manual control. It sounds like a sweet deal. I plan on getting one for my next project.

Wow, thanks for all the info. I just read it all through and will probably read it again. With the link systems, how do they work? Do they go with leafs or replace leafs? Do I need some other suspension parts added before I put on the link systems?

Also are Shockwaves just as good as the AirStrut kits? That new system you described does sound pretty nice.

The four link replaces the leaf springs. Which type to go with or what mods need to be done, would need to be answered by someone more familiar with that tyoe of car. The shockwave and air struts are virtually the same. The air strut is just different in its mounting for the strut equipped cars. which one to use just depends on the application.

Alright thanks! So is 4-link and 4-bar different or the same? Because in another thread I was told the 4-bar was not great for cornering.

Just to bump this back into view. But also are the CoolRides worth it? Do they fit?

I would recomend the shockwaves for your aplication. They are not cheap but offer the best performance and ride.
A four link is the same as a four bar system essentially. A four link is a setup where your bar angles are adjustable letting you tune your suspension for better hookup or cornering. A four bar is has fixed rod angles. It will still perform well but you lose the adjustability of it. Unless your racing the four bar will be sufficent and easier to setup.
