i have manual steering and want to upgrade it when the motor is out.... power steering or rack and pinion ????? and recommendations on which one and where to purchase it at?? thanks for the help !!!
If you google early mustang rack and pinion, you'll get a ton of results like Randall's and Total Control Products that specialize in that popular conversion. In my opinion, power rack and pinion is the absolute best way to go for your project. I just went to a show where a friend of mine did a 64 Falcon(same car except for sheetmetal) and in addition to the rack and pinion, put in the Mustang 2 front crossmember and suspension and it is absolutely KILLER. That kit allows you to cut out the spring towers and smooth the inner fenders/firewall to give the engine bay a great look and tons of room for PS pumps, headers, etc. In addition, it upgrades the handling by a bunch. Might be a little above your expertise, but you should at least research it a little. The downside is it will make your Mustang way less than stock for the crowd that want a "true" Mustang, but I'm one of those "cut em up guys" and if I did a Falcon/Mustang, there's no doubt I'd do that, add a hot 347 and a TKO 5 speed manual and have my self a ball.
i have a 302 puttin out roughly 340 hp. i just bought a aod transmition for it.its a destroyer stage 2. i want to put a posi in the rear end with 3.55 gears. where can i look to purchase one ??
