65 pontiac lemans dash
ok fella's heres the issue. i have a 65 pontiac lemans w/ the gauge cluster completely inop. i am not tryin to restore to original. the dash panel itself is in excellent condition. my question is: i just bought all new autometer gauges and the small ones (fuel and water temp) are like 2 1/16". any ideas on how to fabricate the panel in order for the gauges to fit. any thoughts would really be greatly aprriciated. thank y'all and may god continue to bless us!!

i think it's original parts group that sells a carbon fiber insert for muscle cars. saw in last mo's pop hot rodding. you have to drill all new holes for gages and mounting and it requires sanding to fit. i have a similar problem with my 66 <--, autometer makes a gauge like 3 and 7/8 in diameter. good luck on this one.
go to www.performanceyears.com and maybe somebody is making inserts over there for sale. these guys might help, call Ron Johnson at Potomac Classic Pontiacs @ 301-668-0101 or you might try Barry Martin @ Sonic Motors in MI. 810-750-1421 Last edited by bullheimer; 05-28-2004 at 09:29 AM. |
