66 Buick convertible top hydraulics question

Is there a quick way to bleed the hydraulics on my 66 Buick's convertible top? I got the electric motor working after it was rebuilt and the cylinders are new(20 years old new as is the rebuild on the pump). They were stored in the prior owners garage as he didn't have the inclination to install them, now I'm thinking he was on to something. I got it all installed and have spent the last four hours trying to bleed the system, I ended up looking like a monkey having its way with a football and filled the reservoir and lifted the top manually. I then proceeded to top off the pump, run it for a minute, repeat and repeat too many times to count. There has to be a better way, I've already sucked the battery from 13.8 volts to 11 volts.
I'm doing this with the top off and just have the frame to contend with. The new top is laying over another car awaiting me to figger this out.

Thanks,
Chip.

Tomorrow I will see in the factory manual how to bleed the system.

Thanks Brian, my 1965 Buick chassis manual obviously doesn't give the information.
