66 charger tail light

Has any one in here ever taken a tail light out of a 66 charger? If you can remember then please tell me how. I am afraid of destroying it the way I am going. I know that the lens is separate and I am going to try to fix the cracks for the inside to get me by for now. Missouri has state inspections! It is all there and can be rigged till I have $400 to spend on a new one. THANK YOU

There are a bunch of nuts that go around the inside behind the plastic panel.
Then it pushes outward. The heat makes them crack in the middle. Do a search on ebay. There is a part which you can look at, which the lens is screwed into.

A plastics shop/vinyl repair place can help you fix it, I think.
