66 Chevelle 300 2 Door Post Old School

help me with my decision i have a 1966 chevelle malibu 2 door 300 { not a deluxe } with 0 none options. straight shift 6 cyl. it runs but smokes a little from setting for years. anyway i am replacing rusted panels now at goodmark industires cleveland ga. its nice insid except couple spots on headliner. dash is great no radio and a factory rubber floor mat. kind of a off gold color interior. would satin flat black look good and 8 inch rallys or steel wheels and dog dish with cheater slicks or?? i have a 1966 low mileage power pack 283 and a 377 or 406. also have new 660 double pumper holley and OFFENHAUSER 3X2 WITH MATCHING # CARBS. WOULD A STRAIGHT DRIVE HI PO SOLID LIFTER 3X2 SET UP OR MY SUPER T-10. WHAT ABOUT MY OTHER MOTOR COMBOS. I AM THRU RACING SO POWER IS NOT NEEDED. I WANT SOUND AND LOOKS.
WHAT SAY YOU GUYS I WANT HELP I AM TIRED OF NOT SLEEPING THINKING ABOUT PAINT COLORS AND MOTOR COMBOS. SHOULD I STROKE THE 283 OR A 301. I BUILT A 377 NOVA WENT 9.50,S AND 406 9.80,S BOTH LOTS OF NITROUS BOTH EDITORS CHOICE DRAG CARS SUPER CHEVY. IM 58 NOW WANT A COOL RIDE NO A.C. NO P.S. OR P.B. NO ELECTRIC WINDOWS, SEATS, LEATHER OR CHROME EVERY WHERE

Welcome aboard.. Lets move this over to Hotrodding Basics...or you can do a repost there..

You will probably get a lot of opinions on this from different people..Just my opinion is to do the car just like we might have done it in 1966..Something like the old 327/365 horse cam with the offy 3x2 manifold.Whichever SBC you have that works will be fine.

Paint it white (Satin black just does not work for me on those cars makes them look like a junkyard refugee and has been waaay overdone by the rat rod guys) do some mild pinstriping and thats it..

Some old style Cragers like we might have done just out of high school in those days..other than that just a nice resto deal..Old clamp on tach and the rest of the gauges under the dash in one of those accessory mounts..

I think that would be a real eyecatcher and much appreciated by a lot of folks..

Just my 2 cents tho..get some more input..
