66 chevy pickup wiring

I have a project 66 pickup into which someone dropped a later model (69-80 per the casting #s) 350 with alternator attached; I wired it according to the original 66 diagram but that doesn't account for the generator/external voltage regulator to alternator switch; also, I have no power to the ignition switch but am able to crank the engine with an external starter button.
What's the best source for info on properly wiring this setup - do I need a different harness or just bypass the regulator? Just wading into this mess - any help will be appreciated.

Wire

Doc here,

Here is the diagram for the Alternator:

And one for the start system:

If your Ignition system is dead, the "Hot at all times" wire is dead, It should be pink or purple 10 gauge...It will go to the main bolt on the starter solenoid (the battery cable terminal) Via a fuse link...

The same applies to the red 10 gauge wire from the alternator via fuse link..
