'66 Chevy rearend swap
 

I have a '66 C10 with a 1 ton rearend, too heavy for the road. What's the best route to take to make it road ready, and more fuel friendly? Rebuild the current gears, or swap for a different ratio rearend (which one?) from another truck? Will an impala rearend fit my '66? :confused:

a rearend out of a 87 GMC will fit but you have to weld on 2 inch leaf pads.It will give you a choice of 5 or 6 lug that way.Most will have 3.73 gears in them.
