Post 66 impala front brakes

what ,if any, later disc brakes will work on my 66 impala.Spindles and all.It's ss 4speed and it will not stop with the old drums

a 69-70 impala car or wagon will work but you must use the spindles,up and low balljoints, tierod assy's and all the brake parts.
try to find the wagon it has a larger brake booster

I have used discs and spindles from a 70 wagon on my 66 supersport, but the 70 wagon booster wont fit with a big block, so i made a bracket to adapt a 85 caprice hydraboost and dual master cylinder, and it just so happends that i have a drawing of it (the dimentions are in milimeters but i would think you should be able to devide by 25.4) If you are interested in the sketch send me a mail on Jakob@regeur.dk

I have an article on my website about converting to disc brakes using an aftermarket bracket kit.The brackets bolt to the stock drum spindles and use later model components.This is an alternative to the 67-70 Impala conversion, since its getting harder to find these parts.The Watering Hole

What article

I went to the 'watering hole' and couldn't find any article on brakes.
Maybe all the pop-ups got in the way.
The article would be a big help.

mickmc, go to the knowlege base and look up disc brake conversion theres a ton of stuff there and a lot of suppliers for parts. im converting my 66 hardtop so e-mail me or pm me if you need any help. my email is in my profile.good luck.

'65 to '70 full-sized Chevys use the same suspension design. '67 & '68 had 4-piston calipers, while '69 & '70 used the more familiar (and less leak-prone) single-piston calipers. Many factory wheels made for drum-brake cars will not clear either style of caliper, so you might need different wheels.
