66 mustang disk brake conversion
Hi folks! I need to get any ideas or knowledge for my next task that you may have to offer. The 'ole disk brake conversion. I have a '66 mustang coupe, 289 hipo, and a set of front spindles from a 68 coupe. I have read somewhere that instead of using 68 rotors and calipers, I should use "70 parts. I have not looked at them yet (I work out of country and the spindles were sent to me..wont see them for a few weeks). The wheels would be a set of '17 torque thrust style, so I would not think backspacing would be the issue. What are you thoughts, ideas...hindsight experiences?
Ditch the '68 mustang stuff.. 4 pistion bendix calipers, are expensive and troublesome. the '70 stuff might fit, but it will be easier to get a set of Granada spindles and calipers, which will bolt right up
