Hello guys Im in need of some info for a 67 Cadillac Calais that I just started to restore.The car has been sitting inside for the last 15 years and is in great shape,the only problem that im having is finding a gas tank.The original tank is very rusty inside and I cant find anyone in my area that wants to work on it,the shops tell me that it would be cheaper to buy a new one,but I have called a 5 company's around the country and all said they don't make them.
So if someone could point me in the right direction I would be very grateful

Do the old couple of handfulls of nuts and water in the tank, get a buddy to help and shake the crap out of it for a few hours. I needed one of them 20 years ago and had a hard time finding one. When I did we had to clean it out anyway. At least it wasnt rusty.

I've never used this site, but I search it occassionally;

Its a site that wrecking yards subscribe to. You can put in a search and a geographic area, and any participating wrecking yards with their inventories online will pop up if they match. I believe it is somehow integrated with a equivalent-part matching database.

Unfortunately, the Calais isn't listed as a search choice, but the DeVille is. I'm a little fuzzy on 67 Cadillacs - wasn't a Calais essentially the same chassis as a DeVille back then?

You could also try looking in Hemmings.

Worse case, you might be able to pick up a basket case Cadillac of the same era with a good tank on ebay. If you have the space, you could haul it to your place, strip off the fuel tank and any other useful parts, and sell the rest of the pieces on ebay, with the hulk sold to the local scrap dealer/wrecking yard.
