67 Chevelle power steering upgrade problem

Folks,
I am a newbie to the forum so I apologize up front for any errors on my part...
Trying to convert my 67 Chevelle SS 396 to power steering. The old manual gear box had 3 bolts through the frame that I removed, no issues. The new powered steering gear I have is a 4 bolt pattern and the bolt holes do not line up. The lower 2 bolts are no problem and line up, but the upper bolt is too far away from the now open frame bolt hole. I was willing to use 3 of the four bolts but that won't even work now. I 'assume' I have the wrong steering gear, and it isn't really for this year Chevelle as advertised, or is there an additional bracket or machining work needs done? Thanks for any advice! -Dan

I converted my 66 from manual to a quick ratio from a Trans Am, my biggest problem was the pitman arm. I don't remember any problem bolting the box to the frame. What kind of box have you got?

The correct steering box will have four lugs for the bolts but only three will be used. It is a direct bolt-in for the manual box.

Howdy! It has a Saginaw Steering Gear logo cast into the side of the housing, along with a big number 76 (year?) going vertically on the end next to the cap. The other castings on this unit are 5691676, along with what looks like a time of casting stamp of 42./. On the cap with the 4 bolts in it there are stampings of 027 2 on the flat surface and 7812145 on that same cover. The pitman arm has a casting of GM5679209 2-8B. I don't know what this gearbox is for, but I know it doesn't fit my application. Thanks for any info.!
