67 Impala Lights

Good Morning Guy's,

I am troubleshooting a 67 Impala with a electrical problem. The tail lights do not come on. Can some one attach a wiring diagram that covers the circuits that run the tail lights, brake, turn signal, headlights? I would be very greatfull......

Don't have one for a '67 but this site goes to a '65 that may help you for the tailights http://www.tocmp.com/tOCMP/wiring/57...roletindex.htm It should basically be the same for the tails. You need to check your grounds first, and then your hots to see if you are getting any juice to the lights. If not juice to them, then you are going to want to check your light switch and see if you are getting juice to it. If you have hot to that, you should have hot coming out. The easiest method will be to pull the switch and then get the plug down and plug it back in to where you can work on it. Other than that you will be upside down under the dash. If you have juice into the switch and coming out of the switch, you have either a bad ground, broken wire, or blowed bulbs. Also make sure there is no rust or corrosion in the sockets.

When I hit the dimmer switch to low beam, the running lights go off, when I switch to high beam the head lights go off, and the running light comes on. Do you think the dimmer switch is bad, or the headlight switch?

I meant to say with dimmer switch in high beam, the headlights go totally out, and the running lights come on.
