Question 68 Camaro Wheel/Tire Fitting

I want to buy some new rims and tires for my 68 Camaro and was wondering if somebody knew what size I could put on the front with out having clearance issues. I want 17x8 in rims with 245/45s all the way around, but I don't know if they will clear on the front, the back shouldn't be a problem. The rims are offered with 4.75 or 4.0 inch backspacing. My suspension is bone stock with little sag. If you all don't think 245's would clear in the front, what is the widest I could use? Thanks for everybody's time and help,

Dave

Post re: 68 Camaro Wheel/Tire Fitting

The wheels and tires should fit without a problem I have a 1967 firebird with 20x9.5 on the rear and 18x8 on the front. I did have to make my suspension a little firmer, but that was the only problem I had. A good set of coilovers should do the trick.
