68 GTO :narrowed rear end

Hi, I want a narrowed rear end under my 1968 LeMans so I can have a deeper dished wheel. What is the best swap to achieve this? I was told late model S-10 or late model Camaro 10-bolt rear ends are narrower. I am wanting to run the stock four link suspension and also want disc.

Thank you, Greg

You are not going to find another rear end with the mounting points that you need, other than another "A" body GM.....The pre 68 rears are about 1" narrower, but thats about it. Best to get your existing rear narrowed or maybe a custom built 9" Ford or something strong if you are going to go that route.

There is much more you need to look at than just slapping in another rear....The frame is likely needing to be modified too to accommodate the larger tires

You can't narrow an A body rear end very much without getting into the lower controll arm mounts. The stock suspensoin is going to limit the amount that you can narrow it. As stated above, there are no other rear ends that you can use with the stock suspension other than the A body rear ends.
