68 Mustang Dies When Headlights Are Turned On

Anyone ever have this problem? Cant drive at night, because as soon as I turn the headlights on the car will begin to stall. If I give it gas/keep the rpm's up it will stay running. Any Ideas??

At idle lights off, voltage is roughly 13.15

Idling with lights on voltage 12.75

When I put it in gear the car dies when the lights are turned on

Transmission ground??

Thanks!

Vacuum?

How does the car run otherwise?
Nice and smooth?
What is warm curb idle RPM / vacuum readings?
Idle RPM in gear / vacuum readings?

Sometimes the additional load of the alternator is the proverbial "straw that broke the camel's back" ...

It has it's moments where it runs really well. Lately, it will occasionally want to stall in gear sitting at a stop light. Turning the headlights on will kill it immediately. Unfortunately, I no longer have a lot of the tools need to check vacuum and compression etc, so I'm just trying it by process of elimination.

At idle in Park, it usually runs great.

I replaced a couple vacuum lines and clamps, as well as the spark plugs and that seemed to help a bit. I am trying to borrow a few tools now to check some other suggestions, but am limited on funds and definitely cant afford a trip to a mechanic.

I really appreciate your response and input
