Post 68 Pontiac 400 for sale

I have a 68 Pontiac 400 shortblock for sale, completely assembled rotating assembly, windage tray, oil pan, timing set, timing cover, and water pump out of a 68 GTO automatic. Block code is YS with a casting date of Feb 16, 1968. this this was factory rated at 350hp! I spoke witha company called Forward Air and they will ship to just about any major airport in the lower 48 US states for $.33 per pound which comes out to about $150.

This would make an excellent street/strip motor. It was runnign when pulled, heads were pulled and put on the correct motor for the 67 GTO it came in. Cylinders were oiled, pan was removed to inspect the bottom end....all looked good. the pan was bolted back on and the block was wrapped in plastic.

$500 shipped to an airport near you!

Is that engine the same as a 78 block, will the motor mounts, transmission and header bolt right on in a 78 trans am?...or did they change the block since then?

It would be the same and it included the rotating assembly, oil pump, timing cover, etc. No heads or intake.

Engine has been SOLD, though.
