I have a 69 bonneville that needs some door panel work,, they are a molded hard cardboard, type material with the upholstery material glued on ,and has cracked in some places,
I re-died the panels but the cracks still stand out,, or should I just recover over the existing material, ?
Post a picture so we can see what your dealing with... I would just make another one.. You can make a copy of it.(a Buck) Then use fleece to make the shape, Wet it out with resin..Like they do to make speaker box's..
You need to start with a new base for the panels, going over the old ones will not look good. 1969 door panels should not be that hard to duplicate, but I need to see a picture of what you're talking about.
