69 Camaro 12 Bolt Posi

Help out there! I'm getting the parts together for my 69 Camaro build and I am looking for a 12 bolt posi rear end @ 4.10 gears or a little lower. Does anybody know what other rear ends will work with the 69 and by chance does anyone know someone with one for sale? Thanks

12 bolt posi.

Hello,I see that you are looking for a 12 bolt,I know that is the rear end people love because they are a bit heavier duty than the stock 8.2 10 bolt, but unless you are putting something with over 500 hp in the front of this thing, the 10 bolt is easier to find, cheaper, and more readily available to the public. You can upgrade the axles on the 8.2 and also get a set or richmond gears fro the price of a 12 bolt case alone these days.

I know I may catch some grief for this posting, but having my own 68 and 76 Firebirds, I know how hard it can be to find a 12 bolt on a budget. My 10 bolt 3.42 works just as well as any 12 bolt..

12 Bolts to fit early Camaros (67-69) are in high demand right now and command premium prices. Everyone with a 67-69 Camaro want's to make it a Z/28 or an SS. The 12 bolt from early Nova's is the same thing, but again they only came on HiPerf Nova's.

12 Bolt Looking

Thanks for the input guys. I'm pretty sure I will need a 12 bolt. The engine going in my 69 is a 408 Stroker that dynoed at 575 HP and 530 FtLbs at 5200 RPM. If all else fails I suppose I could take out a second mortgage and purchase a new one? (Ouch) I'll keep looking. If you hear or see one come available give me a shout.
Thanks

12 Bolt Question

If you were going to purchase new; would you go with Moser, Strange, Currie, Dana, or ? All input is welcome.
Thanks again!

If I was going to purchase new for what you are doing I would buy a new Ford 9" housing and third member for your Camaro. They are superior to a 12 bolt in strength and far easier to swap gears in.

At that power level, a decent prepped 8.5" 10-bolt from a 72-up Nova will fill the bill. Upgrade to 30 spline axles and diff, add a rear girdle cover and pick your gears.
