Question 69 Camaro, 327 Powerglide

I am new to the list, and I have a trans problem. I have a 69 Camaro with a somewhat worked 327, 11-1 compression. The trans is a power-glide. I know it needs a reseal, but I am stumped to the reason it has not pep. The engine is just redone, new carb and MSD and plugs. The trans leaks when it sits (bad seals). If I run the car, it idles and revs great, real strong. Once it is in gear, it seems real hesitant, almost stalls if you go to punch it. Once I take it on the road, it is very sluggish, no jump. It should break the wheels free if I stand on It, but it just slumps along. I was leaning towards a complete trans rebuild being the reason, and I have the required kit, I am just looking at other options and possible reasons for the sluggishness. It wont even go up a set of ramps without stalling. Thanks for any leads.

Also, what kind of cam timing in this combo? What are the ignition specs?

The motor was built for me, and I need to locate the cam card, but I do know it is timed at 16 deg BTDC. The rear is currntly a 10 bolt unsure of gears, (one legger) I have 4:10 12 bolt posi to pop in, once I get the trans done. The MSD is stock weights, no change from manufacturer, and the advance is also MSD spec.

I think it is important to note that this engine was rebuilt 5-6 years ago, and it was run only seldomly. The vac lines show wear and have been replaced. Holly is new and set to stock specs, 650 dbl pumper vac secondaries, elec chock. This is a work in progress for me. My girl friend is the true owner, and I am picking up the pieces. All is together and as I stated, it screams in neutral, nice cam lunge and roll. No misses and no pings. Smells somewhat rich, but I chalked that up to sitting, I may be wrong. Fuel is freash, now and she is up on fall four points to have the trans removed. The rear will be replaced also at this time. 4:10 12 bolt. The girl friend tells me that ir ran excellent prior to sitting, and the trans let go during the hibernation. This is why I think it is trans related.
Whew.... That should cover most of what I know of this Camaro.

Just a few suggestions.

You could have a vacumm leak so this is why the stumble after you put it in gear.

The tranny is weak and can't p,ut the torque of the engine to the ground.

The rear gears are too high (2:92, 2:73s) so the engine has to work harder to get the car rolling.

I will start the leak test this weekend. also think it is trans related. When it idles, there is a whine from the powerglide. I have the rebuild kit sitting on the passenger seat, shift improvement kit included. I think I need to drop the trans this weekend, and start the healing process A powerglide rebuild should be pretty straight forward, I think. I will post updates as they arise. Thanks to all who offered assistance.
