Post 69' Camaro Chambered Exhaust System

I am looking to replace my stock exhaust system with a correct reproduction of the 2 1/4" chambered exhuast system that was an option on the 69' Camaro. Does anyone have any experience with this system. Basically, I want to know how obnoxiously loud it is. Can you hear yourself think or listen to the radio when driving or am I going to get tickets?

Here is a link to one from Rick's Camaro's for reference.

Thanks,

Joe

When i am going to put an exhaust in my car, which is 69 firebird, which has a SBC in it. I would recomend, ntot sure how good it is. But JC whitney the mail-oreder catalog has for 160 bucks you can get a complete daul exhaust system for headers that is stainless steal. I would get that and 2 flowmaster mufflers, it would givce u an none-obnoshus, low rumble. IT would run u the hole set up like 210 bucks. Not back for a stainless steal exhaust system

Thanks Stereodud,

I spoke to a muffler shop here in Denver that I have used before that has always done a great job for me. I decided to have the stock muffler removed and go with a pair of MagnaFlow mufflers to be placed where the original four port muffler existed, forward of the rear gas tank. This will give me my muscle care sound and I can keep everything else stock. If I were ever to sell, then the only thing that would need to be done would be to put back the stock muffler. I don't want to go too far away from a "correct" 69 Camaro.
