69 Camaro Cluch Fork Hits Firewall...
I had the same problem with my 67 Camaro while installing a new TKO 5 speed.
Turned out to be the wrong clutch fork. 1st gen Camaro's use an "S" shaped fork while the later ones use a straiter one. If you have the two forks side by side the differences are very noticeable. Otherwise they can be mistaken, as my first one was when the company sent it. I still have that one if you want a picture sent.
Once I obtained the correct fork and made the replacement, the adjustment was simple.
If your Flywheel has been lightened or is not stock, you need to mic the thickness and compare it to stock. If the one you are using is thinner, you need an adjustable pivot ball assy. I had to lengthen mine to compensate for the thinner flywheel. I had to replace the cross member with a custom one for my new trannie.
If the cross member you have meets the mounts on your trannie and you have the correct mount in place, the cross member should be correct.
