my fuel inlet threads, the thing that houses the filter, are mashed up. Someone before me put in quite a big of epoxy. I cleaned it out and screwed it back together carefully.
I was still having the fuel overflow problem. My friend suggested hitting the area over the needle with a hammer while the carb was sitting on the car. Tapped if a few times with a hammer and that must've unstuck the needle because it stopped gushing gas all over the place. He said that he used to have to do it all the time on his 70 Falcon. He'd pull over and tap his carb a few times with a hammer and then be on his way. He had another hammer trick for his starter too. Anyway, thanks for the help.
