69 Firebird upholstery

I am installing new foam and seat covers in my 69 Firebird Convertible, purchased from Classic industries. It seams like the foam is really quit deep to hogring the uphostery through and seems that there would be a deep seam when installed. Does anyone have any good ideas on getting the hogrings through the foam and attached to the seat back? I was thinking of making a sort of wire staple and sticking them through the seat and then pulling the upholstery back into the foam slot.
Thanks,
Blayne

re: 69 Firebird upholstery

I forgot the pattern on the firebird so a picture of the interface would help.

How thick are the wires for the listing pockets? And are they spring steel? Spring steel will bold the tension better.

Also when you hogring the frequency of rings you put in defines how much undulation you get from the listing. The more you put in the better.

A shot of the seat will help to tell you what order to install the rings as there is a pattern to give you the best hold and tension.
