69 Impala master cylinder

Ok, here's the deal. I'm on my 4th master cylinder in 5 years now. I've tried a new one, a rebuilt one, a used one from junk yard, and one I rebuilt myself. All either leaked around the lid, mysteriously fail, or brake fluid slowly leaks out the back of them. I'M FED UP!!!

Has anyone converted to the newer style plastic reservior type. Main problem I can see is that it's made for an angled firewall, and my firewall is flat.

BTW the car has 4 wheel non-power drums.
